Al Phaneuf—

Owner, Founder,

Master Craftsman

Though Al Phaneuf played football for the University of Kentucky and professional football in Canada, his calling has always been working with wood.

He was brought up on a farm, an influence on his rustic style. Phaneuf’s grandfather, a skilled carpenter, helped cultivate a sense of unpretentious yet refined simplicity that became the hallmark Phaneuf's own work.

Over the years, collaborations with local artists on mixed-medium projects established a new genre and led to the formations of Alternative Frames and Furnishings, an enterprise that uses reclaimed wood, old furniture and any material Phaneuf can find.

Having set a standard of artistry for over 40 years in renovations and furnishings, Phaneuf began to wonder:

"Why not make beautiful things for pets?"

Designer Dog Creations was born.

Interesting Facts About Katie Morris

1. Katie's father was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He wrote many Number 1 Hits, including Elvis's "Burning Love" and The Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye Earle."

2. She was a scholarship Div. I Volleyball player at Belmont University, in Nashville, Tennessee, where she recieved her BFA.

3. Her granddaddy, also inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, was a music publisher who was instrumental in launching the careers of Dolly, Parton, Kris Kristofferson and Katie's Dad, Dennis Linde, among many others.

4. Katie studied art in Italy.

5. Katie paints and writes songs.
